Book Description
A delightful collection of fresh recipes, gardening tips, and family wisdom from fourth-generation Iowa farmer, content creator, and New York Times bestselling author Kaleb Wyse.
For Kaleb Wyse, growing food runs deep—he’s devoted his entire life to learning the rhythms of the seasons and the secrets of the soil at his family’s Iowa farm. In his newest cookbook, Kaleb invites you into his world, sharing the generational wisdom, recipes, and stories he’s gathered from years spent among rows of tomatoes and beds of greens. This is more than just a cookbook—it’s Kaleb’s way of helping you bring the flavor of the farm to your kitchen, no garden required.
Inside you’ll find fresh, vegetable-forward recipes inspired by what Kaleb knows best: letting natural foods shine on the table, whether you grow them yourself or pick them up at the market. This book will inspire you to add more vegetables to your table year-round, with recipes like:
• Strawberry Morning Buns
• CBLT: Cornbread, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich
• Mediterranean Gigante Bean Salad with Feta & Herbs
• Supper Club Spaghetti Pasta Salad
• Grilled Chicken and Summer Vegetables with Pistachio Pesto
• Sweet Corn & Chorizo Pasta with Sun-Dried Tomatoes
• Spiced Carrot Cake with Mascarpone Frosting
• Peach Slab Pie
The Homegrown Table goes beyond the kitchen, weaving in Kaleb’s favorite gardening advice and know-how to help you connect with your food from the ground up. Alongside the recipes, there are practical tips—including detailed guidance for growing your favorite produce—making the abundance of each season accessible to everyone. There’s also advice for seed starting, gardening in small spaces, and Kaleb’s hardest-won lessons (hint: patience is key).
Whether you tend a backyard plot, nurture a single pot of herbs on your fire escape, or just love to eat what’s in season, this book celebrates the journey from seed to plate, and invites you to savor the rewards of quality ingredients prepared with care.
